I am experiencing issues with basic folder structures/access when I try to install a program. (XPHome)

I was able to install that same file on other boxes same OS without problem. So the issue is on the local computer"

All is fine up to that point, the folders do exist, just not the Scripts folder and onward.)

This is the part I believe I need to focus on.

"I created a folder "JFW" manually under C:\, no problem.
I then try to create a"Scripts" sub folder (C:\JFW\Scripts)

when I do that the "Script" folder renames itself to"New folder" It does not let me use that name, as if I have no permission.

if I rename the folder "JFW" to something else then the "Script" folder reapears and I can create/rename files/folders within "JFW" normally.

The reason I tried to create those folders manually is because that is exactly the point the installation fails and gives me the error
"unable to create directory C:\JFW\Scripts.

All is fine up to that point, the folders do exist, just not the Scripts folder and forward.

I did the exact same thing under C:\Programs no problem there, the issue is ONLY under C:\

Unfortunately the installer does not give me the option to change the target.

As far as security, I had turned all security off, and the event viewer gives me nada. The system is free of Viruses and the product installed is legitimate.

Any leads would be apreciated.
Thanks,
Michele
