Example: an ebook that is downloaded toyour computer and is in html format that you need to open with any browser withouthaving to connect to the internet. Please let me know!

I can't imagine it would not be able to.

Also, just checking, but you do know you need to buy Apple hardware for that OS, right? The Mac OS will not work on just any PC hardware.

**Resisting the urge to post anti-Mac propaganda**

The OSx86 project will not work with certain pieces of hardware. The major thing is that you have to have a supported chipset on your motherboard. Plus, all of your hardware drivers have to be compatible with the OS, which usually isn't much of a problem, but I've seen a lot of incompatability issues with people who decided to upgrade their macs without knowing what they were doing. Do yourself a favor and make sure that all your hardware is compatible before buying it.

Macosx natively supports zip files, for rar you will need to get the application unrarx.

Tomcruise if the file has an .html extension Safari shouldn't have any problems opening the file. (even if you aren't on the internet web browsers are designed to read html)

    Macosx also supports pdf files

html is NOT OS dependent..it IS browser dependent. Any browser you get that installs on the MAC should read htm, html, php, asp, xhtml, xml etc.

The question almost equates to "If I buy a Japanese car, will it run on American gas?"
