Yes, once you install XP, you will not be able to reinstall Vista.Unofficial TechIMO record holder for the number of times being added and removed from beemer's ignore list.

But, you are able to install XP on a seperate partition and dual boot.

Vista will make an image of your drive, but you canít save it on the same partition,
if you ever want to restore Vista, get an external drive, (40gig will be enough)
and have vista put the image on that drive, then you can reload vista any time,i'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?

ttan you will have a copy of vista,i'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?

a restore of vista, if that laptop has a DVD burner, than the laptop may have,
a copy of vista on it, and you need to burn it on to a disk, I would find out,
before you go deleting anything,
you should be able to get the XP drivers from their website,
download them and save themi'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?

Seems a bit risky since you download the drives for anouther HP model ...
Try the drivers from this model with full XP driver support.
Install Intel Chipset Intallation Utilty for Ich7 before any other drivers.
For audio install MS UAA before Conexant HD driver.Graphics driver,Geforce.Lan and Wireless,Intel Pro drivers.

Root i jus give up ... I finds it to be to risky ...
The reason i wanted win xp was that i couldn't install some software on win vista, couldn't even start the installation got error 1001. In a try to repair the damage i installed net framwork 1.1 but i didn't uninstall any earlier or newer versions, i just started to install it.
Do you guys think that my cause any problems, else i guess i just need to get more recent versions of my software, which will be hard ...
