| New PC Windows XP password
I have a recently purchased PC with Windows XP installed. The administrator account has a password on it - I have that.
There are 2 accounts on the new pc. Neither are password protected.
When a user enters the system, all is well. However after the account goes in screensaver mode, a password is required where there is no password. I have tried to replace the account with a new one but it still occurs. The administrator password doesn't work there. Nothing works there. The user has to reboot the system.
Has anyone seen this? My last resort is to reinstall the operating system.
I was hoping someone has seen this and has a solution before going there.
Thanks, |

Home or Pro? Also, as you using fast user switching? |

It's Pro. I didn't set it to fast user switch. I'lcheck that. I'm not at the PC right now.
The problem here is that it only occurs on one account. |

Is this system attached to a domain? If so, users should be using a password. |

No domain. It's a standalone home PC that is tied to a linksys router. Will be used for remote access later, but nothing is configured yet. |

Right click on the "desktop",
left click "properties",
go to "screensaver" tab,
uncheck the "on resume password protect" |
