FATAL ERROR and BSOD???
Hi guys I need some help.
I tried the interrnet but I cannot get any info on this.
I started getting this error message while playing DotA a few months back.
"This application has encountered a critical error:
FATAL ERROR!
Program: c:\warcraft 3\war3.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:6F31DAA0
The instruction at '0x6F31DAAC' referenced memory at '0x0000003C'.
The memory could not be 'read'.
Press OK to terminate the application."
This does not happen that much, only enough to irritate me. But I also get a similar fatal error while playing Need for Speed Carbon.
Then last night while I played Carbon, the weirdest screen discoloration happened, almost like a negative of a picture. I also kept freezing up while doing this. Then when I at last got to the game menu, and quit the game, a BSOD expoded in my face.
Now here is the event viewer info for the BSOD :
Event Type: Error
Event Source: W32Time
Event Category: None
Event ID: 17
Date: 12/9/2007
Time: 6:37:12 PM
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
Time Provider NtpClient: An error occurred during DNS lookup of the manually configured peer 'time.windows.com,0x1'. NtpClient will try the DNS lookup again in 15 minutes. The error was: A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host. (0x80072751)
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
And
Event Type: Error
Event Source: W32Time
Event Category: None
Event ID: 29
Date: 12/9/2007
Time: 6:37:12 PM
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
The time provider NtpClient is configured to acquire time from one or more time sources, however none of the sources are currently accessible. No attempt to contact a source will be made for 14 minutes. NtpClient has no source of accurate time.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Now these seem like network related events. If this was not at the exact same time as the BSOD, I would not have said it is the problem. And there are alot of entries of this exact same error in my event viewer.
BTW im connected to a LAN at home with no internet connection as of yet.
I figured RAM problems or registry errors, but this rig is only about 3 months old. So something tells me thats not the problem.
here are my sys specs :
Intel E2160
Gigabyte GA-VM900M mobo
1 Gig AData RAM
Biostar 8500 GT
1x Maxtor SATA + 1 Maxtor IDE HDD's
Aopen DVD-RW
If anyone can shed some light I would appreciateLink to my TechIMO TOP 30 Submision:
