All folders in both partitions 'read only' and can't be unchecked
Using a fresh custom install (using nLite) of XP Pro w/s sp2 slipstreamed, all the folders in 'C' and 'D' drive are 'read only' I tried to uncheck them, but it doesn't stick.
NO services were removed, but some were stopped as I always do. I assume this might be it, but I never encounterned this before.
I have used nLite many times with both 2k & XP, but this is a new one. Any ideas here?
BTW; nLite allows a combination of slipstreaming, stopping and/or removing services, adding hotfixes, programs & drivers along with burning the O/S using one program. (I also have asked the question in their forum before someone askes, but it isn't a nLite issue.)Copyright protection & Intellectual property my ass. All you elitists want is more money & power. This is usually a false/positive thing.....Can you open a simple text file and Click File SAVE without getting an error?
Imagine a world where dogs took bad owners to the pound...

steve's probably right....
assuming the drives are formatted NTFS, which I'm guessing they are, then the "read only" checkbox implies that you have security settings on said folders.
to check, go into the View tab of the Folder Options control panel and make sure the the "simple file sharing" option is NOT checked. then, you will have a security tab when viewing properties for the folders, and these security settings will tell you what you have access to. if you need assistance understanding the permissions, you can certainly ask, or i'd advise looking on the internet for an in-depth explanation of NTFS security. maybe check this site out as well, as it covers a bit of the idea behind NTFS and file systems in general.

I guess this is a XP thing as 2k didn't have it.
Just another thing to get use to with FP, er XP as I have used 2k for many years since AFAIC, it was M$s' best O/S (if such a thing is/was possible).Copyright protection & Intellectual property my ass. All you elitists want is more money & power. Enough is enough!

I ordered two bacon-double-cheeseburgers at BK and got two single burgers with bacon and onions. How the hell?
