Vista forgotten password

hey, a friend just called me with Vista Home Basic on a laptop. No password recovery disk. 1 account. when he comes to the colorful login screen it asks him for a password and he's never set one. He's tried leaving it empty and he's tried all his normal password with no success.

booting into safe mode and command prompt still require the password.

pressing ctrl+alt+del twice doesn't do anything. (trying to get to the classic login screen where you can type 'administrator')

anyone know any ways beside ERD commander and wiping to get him in to his PC?

enter into the restore partition and restore it to factory.

As he stated he's trying to avoid doing that...you might have them try the suggestions posted here Bartpe with that plugin seemed to work

This supposedly works as well

edit: I don't know if any of these actually work I'm just browsing a few hits from a google search.
