linux as a server

im sick of windows 2000 server, what programs in linux can do these: proxy server , firewall , ftp and webserver all to connect windows boxes .
if i use a 40 gig drive on the linux box for file storage mp3's and stuff will i be able to access the files from my windows boxes?
please give as much info as you can

Just to get you started~

proxy = squid
firewall = iptables
ftp = proftp
webserver = apache
file access from windows = samba

I will do a bit more digging for links etc & post back.
