It is NOT possible to copy the contents of dual layer disc onto a single layer disc.(If there is more than 4.7GB to be copied.)

I assume if Nero was able to do it, it compressed the data. Which sacrifices quality.

As for your question: I like Nero.

There is a freeware burner that should do the trick, unfortunately I forgot the name.

A lot of people like to use a combination of DVD Shrink 3.2 in combination with Nero... I actually use a program called DVD Fab Platinum which will decrypt, compress (if you ask it to) and burn all in one program. By a long shot the easiest program I've ever used. Is basically one click copying.

Also anydvd is out there and is very popular as well, I've just never really cared for it that much but it works.

Final cut Pro Studio. Great for making all sorts of DVDs you can even create full animated title screens and everything to make your movies look like a professional DVD.

Does final cut copy dvds or is it just for making your own? Also, what is a good way to make divx from dvd? I have a lot of hdd space and if it is easier to copy to the hard drive than to dvd I can do that too.

Hi,
why not try Total Video2DVD Author.

As well as burning a DVD for you, it converts your video files for you, creates DVD menus, adds subtitles, erases the Re-Writable DVD if you want to use it again.

Its really simple to use, the program as an Easy Mode and Advanced Mode.
It does all the work for you, no complications.

Here's one of the links you can download it from.
It comes with a 15 day fully functional free trial.
