Firefox 3 install problem
I downloaded and installed firefox version 3. The icon in the system tray resembles the icon associated with the download file. When I attempt to open the program I am asked to reboot, I have done this several times. I tired to run firefox as administrator, asked to reboot. I tried to remove the program, asked to reboot the system. I have read the firefox help forums but all suggestions have lead to the same result.

On the admin account, reinstall over it.
Dont try to uninstall, just install again.

Have you tried uninstalling it and then installing it?
Never mind you did do that... Have you looked around in your temp file for the installation file or where ever you put it? I'd probably try to delete the installation file. I'm not telling you to just search and destroy a file. But that's what I would do.Last edited by surreal; June 18th, 2008 at 04:29 PM.

My solution was to install the program in my user account. I downloaded the program again.During installation I selected "custom install".The only change I made during the install was to select a desktop icon only, deselected the two other options for a icon.

Steve R Jones, you are right that it is quite old thread. But people are searching help about similar problem. So it may help them without asking a question.
