| M$ to stop production of XP effective 7/31?
I heard it this morning but haven't had a chance to find any articles on it. What have others heard and what are your feelings? 2 years ago I said I would never install it but now I can't imagine using anything else M$ has to offer. They will support it till 2014. |

Just install a better OS, like Vista.

As per Microsoft's posted timetable, the company will stop general licensing of Windows XP to OEMs and terminate retail sales of the operating system on June 30, 2008, 17 months after the release of Windows Vista. However, an exception was announced on April 3, 2008, for OEMs installing to subnotebooks or UMPCs either until June 30, 2010, or one year after the availability of the next client version of Windows, code-named Windows 7 — whichever date comes later.
On April 14, 2009, Windows XP will begin its "Extended Support" period that will last for 5 years until April 8, 2014.

You gotta do what it takes to make it!
Though, I disabled search indexing in XP, too. Seriously MS, just no. |

Ok, seriously this is just my opinion of Vista. Some people I'm sure love Vista and have no issues with it....just not me.

Does that mean that MS is going to cut the cost of XP down to get rid of their inventory then? I'll take 3! |

No problems here with Vista at all!! Migrated to Vista Ultimate about a year or so ago on the meachine I built about 2.5 years ago...no problems at all, and actual performance boosts afterward. Also just bought an HP Laptop with vista Ultimate 64 bit and performance is still great.
In short...I won't miss XP at all...it really feels like Windows 2000 Pro to me since Vista was released...previously I always though XP was a LITTLE bit bubbly than 2000. |

"We have several Windows Vista Home Premium Retail Boxes in stock that are damaged. They are open box units but we guarantee that they have not been activated and the CD is fine. "
I think they meant to say DVD, not CD. What do you think?
