I'm confused.
I've been using StumbleUpon in Firefox and have been amassing a bunch of links in Bookmarks - in a sub-folder of StumbleUpon called Recipe Sites. This A.M. I decided to organize the links therein with Dreamweaver. Problem is I can't find the folder "Recipe Sites" let alone the folder "StumbleUpon" in Explorer.
I can find my bookmarks folder in Explore but it stops where the StumbleUpon folder and others below start.
What the heck gives?
I've searched for the folders and they don't show up, but when I click on Bookmarks in Firefox they are there with all the links.
Thanks,
Bill

Seems like I've read that FF stores the bookmarks in an html file? |

FF bookmarks and stubleupon bookmarks might be in two different places but for FF
C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\"profile name"\bookmarks.html
the stumbleupon ext folder will be there too, however I'm not seeing how you created a folder simply for bookmarks? I don't use stumbleupon much.

When you bookmark a site in FF or IE at the top in the File - Edit - etc. bar there is a button labeled bookmarks. I didn't create a folder for bookmarks.
Steve that is what I have always experienced as well don't know if this is FF 3.0 change ( cause it's not the case now ) or SU changed it.

Mhh...yeah I forgot FF3 screwed things up and no longer stores them the old way. Quote: |
Firefox 3 changed the way bookmarks are stored on the computer. Before they were simply saved in a bookmarks.html. The new Firefox introduces a database driven design and bookmarks are now stored in the places.sqlite file in the profile folder. Starting in Firefox 3, bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite file and bookmarks*.html files are only used for importing and exporting.

Figured it out!!
Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Export HTML.
Pick a name and save where you want.
Thanks for the help - the .sqlite thing got me thinking when I couldn't find a way to open any of them.
Thanks RicheemxX & Steve R Jones!!

This might help you solve problems with stumbleupon, they have a good source of su solutions.
I think it's worth checking out.
