XP Pro repair utility
Has anybody used the repair utility that comes on the cd? IE6 no longer loads when I try to open it. Instead I get the error and the screen to submit it to M$. I started the repair utility, but I have no idea how to use it.

IE6 has built in repair software, In the add/remove control panel click to remove it and then when it ask click the "Repair" option, That should fix it if it is a IE problem.

You cal also always try SFC (system file checker). It has cleared up a couple of error I was receiveing ("Windows has recovered from a major error on boot")

You're not going to be able to go the "Add/Remove" route, due to the fact the I.E. 6 is the base for Windows XP. You'll be able to do that later when you install future versions of I.E., but not now.
You're either going to have to try what Surreal suggested, or boot to the XP CD and repair your installation.

you can reinstall IE in Windows XP by clicking Start, Run and entering the following command:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf
You will need to have your XP CD available
pay attention to the syntax"the chief cause of problems is solutions!"
