Pc Anywhere how to?
Hey guys.
I've been trying to understand how to use pc anywhere but i just cant understand it.
i have a router in the house, and i want to be able to connect to this laptop using my other laptop and while i am away from home. do both laptops need to have pc anywhere?
but i didn't understand the manual.
anyone wants to kick some instructions?

Since pcAnywhere is a pc to pc communication software, it must be installed on both machines.
The hardest part is the home pc. pcA software is easier to setup if you're connecting directly to a static IP and not a 192.xx IP. You could bypass/not use the router at home and connect the pc directly to the modem.Imagine a world where dogs took bad owners to the pound...

Yeah, you're cool "inside" your home network; I can Remote Desktop (similar to PC Anywhere) to any PC in my house.
Going in from the outside world will probably require you to 1.) open some ports on a firewall and 2.) do some port forwarding in your router
Someone will chime in here with deatails...
What OS's are you using? Remote Desktop is inclucded with some versions of Windows and our IT guys prefer it (they had previously found PCAnywhere to have some fairly large security holes).
