| Need help recovering Access 2007 product key
Hi,
My son was provided with Access 2007 as part of his course at university on the basis of one user only. He has been having computer problems so is going to do a format and clean reinstall.
His problem is that he doesn't know his PID of the Access 2007 software. I made him reinstall it to ensure it would work before formatting but when he runs setup it asks for a product key whereas the first time he ran it the key was already there.
He contacted the University but they won't help saying you only get one use (obviously they have no bloody idea that people do reformat) and he'll have to buy it, I rang Microsoft and they didn't want to know about it but offered to sell me another copy.
At present the original access 2007 is running fine with the original PID (wherever it is and in whatever form in the registry)
My question is a simple one, is there any way we can locate what the original PID is (and convert it if necessary) so that it is accepted by the Access 2007 setup program.
Hope someone has a solution.
BTW this program is just MS Access 2007 and not the full Office 2007 suite.

Won't hurt to try this freebie:
The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware open source utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install Windows from your registry. It allows you to print or save your keys for safekeeping. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008, Office XP, Office 2003, and Office 2007 family of products. It also has a community-updated configuration file that retrieves product keys for many other applications. Another feature is the ability to retrieve product keys from unbootable Windows installations. Magical Jelly Bean Software - Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder v2.0.1 |

Thanks Steve, that worked a treat. It retrieved the 25 digit serial Number. We can do the format now.
