AFAIK - SuSE doesn't offer downloads of ISOs, however it may be possible to do an ftp-install, typically SuSE only offers a "demo" ISO image for download.

Just for the information of other readers:

No person or company which redistributes Linux is under any obligation to do so for free. While no license fee may be charged for GNU-Linux itself, and redistribution must include access to source code, a person or company is perfectly within their rights to charge a fee for the redistribution, packaging, manuals, documentaion, and /or support. The GPL in no way obligates a company that sells a Package of Linux to offer it for free download.

--still we think it nice if they do!

You can download the directoy structure I believe and install off of that, but beware that it is 4 or 5 gigs I believe.

    Try Arch Linux?

Small ISO, with just the guts. FWIW.

Now this doesn't go over well with me ... I have never used SuSe Linux .. but if you can't download it .. doesn't that kind of defeat the spirit of the GPL? Maybe its just me ...

I'd love to see what SuSe looks like; I think they have an incredible web site, but since I can't try it out for free (aside from the demo, which isn't really trying IMO) I'm not going to spend any money on it. I will be purchasing a boxed version of RH 7.3 though if it goes on sale for $29 like CMonster says it does. I found a boxed version of RH 5 on a shelf at work and there's quite a bit of stuff that comes with the boxed versions. Think it'll be worth it to me.....
