I will download Thunderbird, is it an expensive program and how does it work. I suppose that all the emails go to their web site and anyone of us can log in to see them

I will download Thunderbird, is it an expensive program? I suppose that all our emails will be transfer to their web site and any of us can log in to their site to see our emails.

Thunderbird is free, it's from mozilla like firefox. I don't know if it's of use but there is also a very useful calendar tool called lightning (though getting it to share amongst pc's is a bit trickier, takes using google calendar).
