Adobe Reader failed to read larg files
hi friends,
I have installed Adobe Reader8.0 in my friend's PC it got failed reading files of size more than 2MB. first I thought, it must be a fault in software itself but when I analyzed that same setup is working fine in my own PC but not in that then I came to be sure that it must be a system concerned issue.
when I try to open the large files, adobe readers takes too much time to prepare itself for reading pages and ultimately it comes to be hanged.
interestingly, the target PC shows a whole part of its total main memory/RAM. here the OS is windows XP SP3.
when I saw, My Computer->Properties->hardware
I did see, 512MB of RAM.
actually that system have a DDR2 SDRAM of 512MB. but my own system shows a total of 448MB RAM even though it has DDR2 SDRAM 512MB.
I think some part of the total main memory engaged by video system.
well, whatever the reason is there I am not sure. please you tell me.
thanks in advance.

I advise you to use more light and faster pdf-reader instead of AdobeReader one.
Try Foxreader, it's free and cool, I've been using it for 2 years.

I've been having the same issue, for whatever reason larger pdf files just stop downloading. For instance right now I'm trying to browse the new walgreens easy ssaver rebate booklet and it stopped at 3.6/5.06.

My Foxitreader opens it without any problems from the first to the last page.

Adobe reader just plain sucks. If nothing else were available I'd just never read any pdfs.

While the suggestion might be vaild it doesn't solve the issue for someone that might want to stick with adobe reader. I just installed the latest version 9.0 and that seems to have solved the issue for now.
