well recently iv upgraded my system and installed a fresh copy of xp..and since that i have been having major BSOD poping up everywhere System Specs
WD 640GB Caviar
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850 512MB PCIE
CORSAIR XMS2 4GBKIT (2X2GB) 800MHZ NON ECC
GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H - NVIDIA GeForce 7100 Chipset - µATX
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - 2.4 GHz, cache L2 8 MB Socket 775
And the errors i have been getting 0x0000004E
0x0000000A
0x0000007E
0x000000DE
(i just had another one while writing this thread good thing firefox saved the text i wrote)
now most of them are memory failures or memory_corruption, and the other ones are to do with ati3duag.dll which happens during a game ( i checked for solutions but none of those worked for me)
i have tried and spent alot of time going through different forums and looking up those errors and so far no luck in fixing them.
my mother board supports ram at 1.8V and i checked and it is running at that speed. also in performance settings i set ram to 3250Mb to make sure it is as it should be.
i run a memtest today which had no errors im all out of ideas i dont know what to do. can anyone help plz. and i do not plan installing a new copy of xp cause i just reorganized my stuff installed alot of programs and games and i know for a fact that i might not escape these problems with new xp copy.
anyone can help..links to other website would be useful but i think i went through alot..usually dont make a thread but find others but in this case im frustrated.
EDIT: IT IS getting really worse iv had 2 0x000000DE dumps in 10 min and this happens when im browsing firefox. im so angry right now. i seriously thinking of reintalling the whole thing.

if you install new ram...
i would try raising the ram voltage
a bit at a time up to 2.1 volts
wait 10 minutes or more between new settings
if you don't get a bsod try a game
to stress your computer |

Well I know the "ati3duag.dll " is a ATI file, and you probably need to do a fresh install of drivers.
Run Driver Cleaner Pro after you uninstall the old drivers. |

| i cant raise to 2.0 my mobo only supports ram running at 1.8? maybe that is the problem? should i underclock my ram from 800 to something lower? maybe that is the problem
the computer has been on for few hours just browsing the net..and no BSOD yet. wonder if the ram stresses when the game is running?
ok ill try to reinstall the new drivers currently i have catalyst 8.12, ill try to gt back to 8.11

i spoke too eraly
i had one at 17:00 that was 1st one for today for about 6 hours running time... 0x0000004E i read on another forum that i might have something to do with ram voltage or power..that when system stresses ram cant handle it and shuts down?
also supported ram on my mobo http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/...a-g31m-s2l.pdf Quote:
2 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 4 GB of system memory
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 MHz memory modules
(Go to GIGABYTE's website for the latest memory support list.)
| would this be what causing the problem?

well it got to a stage where i couldnt handle it
i reinstalled xp, installed all the updates..and downloaded newset drivers. currenntly disabled things i will not use and didnt not instal any drivers for them so i only enbaled and installed for things i will use.
so far no BSOD..iv created several restore points.
i am going to instal far cry 2 to see if i will get some BSOD. will report back.
EDIT: spoke too early i got a 0x0000004E (which crealy mean its a ram issue) while installing Far cry 2..it just died. on me
any ideas on what i should do?

What kind of RAM do you have again?
do this. Download CPU-z, run that. Click on the "SPD" tab, and see what profiles are listed for you RAM. CPUID |

CORSAIR XMS2 4GBKIT (2X2GB) 800MHZ NON ECC
on the ram itself it says 1.8 version
when the error happend i shut down my pc and took out ram sticks..they were extremly hot so i figgured that they overheat under stress and shut down.
now my brother has ( he is also building a rig and waiting for other parts) OCZ Technology 2X2GBKIT 240PIN PC2-6400 DDR2 800MHZ this one is a 2.1 version
now i put in my crosair stick and his ocz stick to see what would happend
everything seems to be running smoothly..i mananged to instal far cry2 wit no problem.
im currently looking at my overclocking tool that came with MB and im seeing that my memory is running at 665 FREQ, wheres before with my 2 crosair sticks it would be at 796 FREQ.
should i look into returning corsair sticks and purchasing these ocz ram sticks?
also the cpuz readings
COrSAIR Stick
OCZ stick
thanks for your help again. |
