windows live messenger help

i changed my email address associated with my windows live messenger account. and it worked out fine, all my contacts are still on the list, my personal settings are still there.

but now all my contacts appear offline to me and when i'm online, they can't see that i'm online either and they're not getting my messages.

I don't use Messenger, but can't you just create a new account with the new Email, then import your contacts?
