    Help lost my boot wotsit

     
    Hi, I installed Mandrake 8.2 on my system which was duel boot 98 and XP. Anyway Mandrake installed is own bootloader onto D: which is XP how do I restore it or remove the Linux boot loader. Mandrake didn`t install correctly anyway so I gotta do it again.

    boot to dos, then fdisk/mbr
    that should get your windows boot loader back.

    and not format the whole drive?

    I think the command he was reffering to was:

    "fdisk /mbr"

    not "format /mbr"

    I used fixmbr and is sorted now, I gotta replace the boot menu on my Win98 partition that I lost. Just means I don`t get a choice of XP or 98 when I boot now.
