| taskbar missing and address toolbar autohidden
Hello-
I was composing a note on gmail and my right thumb hit 2-3 keys accidently, causing my taskbar with the start button on the bottom to disappear and the address toolbar above to go to autohide mode. This also had the effect of enlarging the gmail and other webpages. I can't figure out how to restore my taskbar and change the address toolbar back to regular fixed mode. When I move the mouse over the bottom of the page, the taskbar does not automatically come up, and anyway the autohide function for the taskbar is "off". I can make the start taskbar reappear by pressing "Esc" and "Ctrl" simultaneously, but it disappears when I work on the web page. When I close all internet web pages, the taskbar reappears at the bottom of the screen, with all functions intact, but disappears whenever I open an internet page.
In addition, my google and yahoo toobars are missing from the autohidden address toolbar. When I right-click on the address toolbar, it indicates both the google and yahoo toolbars are activated, but somehow they have been hidden or removed. I tried scanning the mouse over the address bar to see if I could find them hidden, but had no success.
I want to stress this is not a simple autohide situation. I know this issue is related to my inadvertently pressing several keys on the keyboard.
I'd appreciate any thoughts or ideas and I'd be happy to provide more information if the above is not sufficient.
Thanks much for your attention.
PG

PG | Ten minutes after posting the above note, I found the problem--I had inadvertently changed the screen size to "full screen". I found this under the "tools" option when I was on an internet page. Once I unchecked "full screen", the bottom taskbar and the google and the yahoo toolbars returned, along with the address toolbar. I must have hit "F11" while typing; "F11" turns on and off the "full screen" function.
Sorry for posting prematurely, hopefully this might help someone who has a similar issue later.
Thanks,
PG |

Hi,
It sounds like you've pressed the <F11> when viewing the web-page.
This is the default 'full-screen and auto-hide' button...

PG | Hi, Thank you so much for posting this! You solved my problem completely. LOL, my dog, Pekinese was helping me I guess and walked accross my keyboard and must have hit the F11 key. So you have fixed me, thanks again, Rhonda |

Hi, and WELCOME TO TECHIMO - from the Folding@Home Team [#111]...!
Glad we have helped you to fix the problem - in fact I hadn't seen the second comment before as I was obviously typing my response when they posted it... |
