Cool
Windows 7 Beta Comments

I've been using 7 for approx 4 months now on a laptop I travel with, and use in my den at home. Probable average of 3 hours per day of use. Also due some heavy graphic design work on this computer. Have a total of 7 actively used computers at home by a variety of family members.
#1 complaint - I can no longer open multiple Firefox windows from the quick launch area of Windows. I have to go through a convoluted process of right clicking a bookmark link and open in new window. This is nuts!
#1 Compliment - Though the OS gradually seems to be taking over more of the computer, the system seems to be speeding up as a whole.

Another little gripe is why isn't One Care available for this OS. Don't you own the damn company? Are you going to refund me the months that I was unable to use it on this computer? - Although, I am really starting to like Avast...

Thread title changed for clarity, moved to the Applications and Operating systems forum

Complaint 1 is fairly easy- right click the icon and hit firefox it will automatically launch a new window

Gripe - Its a beta so no biggie plus AFAIK One care is out the door when Windows 7 hits for another service so why would they want to work on supporting something they are planning to dump. As for refund, they said from the start there would be no One care support it was your decision to use the W7 beta no one forced it on ya so I wouldn't get my feathers ruffled.

PS- we had some on going discussion about early thoughts on the beta in this thread Windows 7

There are a few big issues with the new taskbar, like what you mentioned and since I always click again on some app to minimize it (which can no longer be done with more than two windows open). I have not used it much though and am pretty sure it can be set to use the old style taskbar.

One Care never has had all that great of reviews or anything. TBH I don't really know many people who have ever used it. I've not used an AV for a very long time and haven't had any issues, only real change I've made is that I test questionable things in a virtual machine instead of doing it on the main OS.

If you want to, you can add a quick launch toolbar to the taskbar in Windows7. I wouldn't do it but you can if you want.
