| Windows XP shows black screen on login Please help !!!
Hi,
Just after the boot up and the usual blue screen, the window flickers and immediately turns black, and then on that black screen I get the login box (asking for password) afterwards all is well again.
The other problem is that everytime I update my AVG it shows no component is active on next restart.
I was attacked by some cofickers last week and I removed them with Macafee"Stinger_Coficker" (if this info helps)
please please help !!! I paste my hijackthis report below:

I remember fixing a desktop that had this problem. I had fixed it by getting an error message while I was fiddling around with it. So I just googled the error and found a patch that fixed everything. Don't know if this will help or not. Sorry about the vagueness.

Sorry about the vagueness. | Oops so I have to wait for an error message... :// still if anybody knows any test that might pinpoint the problem, please let me know! |
