    Internet Explorer disappears

I recently dealt with a Trojan-PWS-Daonol virus. The virus removed my audio device. Then the next day, my Internet Explorer would not work properly. I have Windows XP home edition. Explorer opens up...the website begins to come on, the the explorer window suddenly disappears.
I have Webroot Virus/ Spyware for protection and I believe I have eliminated the virus.
I was on the phone with Microsoft for almost 2 hours last nite, and they did me no good.
    Any Help would be appreciated!!

I think that the only way to solve this problem is to switch to some other web browser like Firefox or the new Safari from apple..

I'm having this disappearing IE problem as well. I also have Firefox and Google Chrome and yes, they work. The problem is, I'm trying to apply for some government jobs on a particular site that ONLY works with IE (typical gov't, haven't caught up with the times), so I HAVE to have a fully operational IE.

Update: I went in and removed all the add-ons, now IE works fine.

Check for trojans, malware, spyware, and virus'. Use good programs. Adaware, Spybot, and AVG aren't that good.
Then go to Microsofts download site and download IE8.

Thanks. It may indeed be one of those programs causing the problem. But I went in and removed all the add-ons, and now IE opens fine. So now I can go apply for those jobs!
