My W2k system died, and with it my video capture software and DVD copying software. I tried to install it in my XP system, but it was too old to work properly.
What is a good video capture / editing package as well as a good DVD copying package. I have a Sony DV camcorder that works with firewire control. I would like to use software that would record to a dual layer DVD recorder, and would also like some info on a good dual layer DVD recorder. I was using the DVD coping software to make copies of the DVDs that I made from the captured video.
I am looking for opinions on various software packages that people have used. The capture software that I had was called Video Explosion. It recognized my firewire card and was able to control my Sony Digital 8 camcorder.
Having read some older threads, there are people that rave about Nero, and people that rave about Roxio.
I am looking for information on current versions of any XP compatable software that will allow me to capture and edit video from my camcorder, and any XP compatable software that will allow me to duplicate the DVDs that I make from the capture.
Please express your opinions, but don't just say that Nero or Roxio or "XYZ" is the best. Please explain.
