Windows XP -- computer clock problem

Hi all --

I'm new here and have looked in vain for help elsewhere on this.

I just noticed today that my computer clock has switched from PM (I logged in shortly after noon) to AM.

When I right click on toolbar and pull up the "adjust time/date" box to change it, the running tick-tick-tick time line (hour-minutes-seconds-AM/PM) has AM, and the "PM" is sitting right below it (instead of hiding beneath/inside, waiting to be toggled out by clicking the arrow).

When I highlight PM and click on OK, nothing happens/changesw.
When I highlight PM and click on APPLY and then on OK, still nothing happens.

I've tried rebooting, disconnecting power, etc. No luck.

Any ideas on troubleshooting this?
Thanks.

Hello. Just for the heck of it, go into CMOS and set the time from that screen (as well). It MAY correct the problem.

Alternatively, your "adjust time/date" box may be set on a 24 hour clock, where both 13:00 AND 1:00PM equal the same PM time, i.e. 1:00PM.
