| Windows 7 Beta won't install
I am currently trying to do a clean install of Beta build 7232 onto a laptop and I keep getting this error: Quote: |
Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570
| I know it is not the disk because I have installed in on another computer and it works fine. The laptop has 4gb of ram and I tried uninstalling one thinking in might be that but that did not work either.
I've searched around the net but I couldn't find any solid answers. Can someone help? |

its displaying that because the source your installing it from is missing or has corrupt installation files (ie: DVD the OS is burned to for installation).
try and re-burn a new disc and see if it will install.

A couple specs of dust on the dvd or the dvd drive can cause this.

I'll check the drive but I know it isn't the disc because right after trying to install it on the laptop I put it in my desktop and installed it without any issues at all.
I'm leaning more towards a hardware issue because I even tried to install an earlier build version and it did the same thing. Could a faulty drive or motherboard cause this problem or is it a software issue for sure? |

Bad iso copy, download RC/the build again(from another mirror).
btw it's not beta, it's just another build. It's like gamma :P

Is that normal for some computers to be able to run a slightly bad iso and others to not be able to? Because as I said I took it right out of the laptop and it installed on my pc. |

As steve said could be dust or scratch too... but yes it could one system reads it another doesn't, some DVD drives might not be as sensitive to imperfections in disc where certain chunks of data may be and not be able to read them etc.
have had that happen a few times over the years with various software, works fine on one system with Brand A and not work on a similar system with Brand B drive. |

I've tried cleaning the lens, burning a new disk, and re-downloading the build but nothing seems to be working. It get's to about 20-25% complete and then the error message pops up. |
