Word 2000 troubles

Merry Monday!!!!

One of our users is having troubles with her office 2k. When she tries to send a document as an attachment from word an error message pops up and word shuts down. This happens so fast that she can't even get a screen capture of the error. After word shuts down she gets another error - "Winword.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log has been created."

I assuming that the original error that she says is disappearing to fast is the same message. Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know where I can find the error log?

i don't know someone with the same problem but for the error log you probrably should use the event logs.

I checked the events log and found nothing about the specific error.

Has she rebooted?
And is there updated Anti Virus thats been run recently?

Yeah, she has re-booted numerous times. She running the latest Mcafee enfinge, service pack and dats. This problem started a couple weeks ago. She is a power user, I have run the office repair tool. I will try the office service pack tonight but I can't see the fixing the problem cause she's the only user having troubles. This computer has had a lot problems with other software also. I'm starting to think this puter is possesed or something.

have you tried fully reinstalling? I have found problems that cant be "repaired" by the tool yet they were solved by simply reinstalling. Also, I have heard of the Normal.dot template file being corrupted and causing problems but Im not sure if the problem you are having would be related to it (sounds like it isn't but ya never know...it might be possessed like you said )

Right click the strat button and select Open all Users. Go up one directory and into documents....there should be a DrWatson folder with a drwtsn32.log file in it. Check out the log to see what the exact error was and what was running when it happened.

Also check to see if the problem is file specific or program specific.

If she tries to create a new doc, save to file name and then try to immediately send as an e-mail attachment does it do the same thing?

If it is file specific, are there links or circular references in the file?
