| decided to learn something new
My 2nd PC was no longer been used for anything as my new place has a server already so I decided to instal a new OS on it - something new to learn and something I had been meaning to do for a long time but hadn't the resource for it. Well everything seems straight forward so far. |

Try Gimp for snapshots and editing - remember that almost everything in Gimp is done with a right-click in the image window
(warning, I am not a fan of Gnome)
Gnome - how different from KDE:
Buggy
cheesy looking
double-click
did I mention buggy? |

GIMp is much better for that sort of stuff IMO (like cmonster said).
I don't really like kde ot gnome... but ximian-gnome looks ok to me (I have only used it a little).
Hope you enjoy playing with linux Vert |

i'd have to agree, gnome is quite buggy, and takes a snobbish view of the li/unix world, imo. the biggest thing with gnome when it was started was that it was licensed under the GPL while kde was licensed under the QPL... licensing freaks suffering from the "if it's not GPL, it's not really open souce" racism jumped on it.. |
