Probably too many programs running in the background, invited or uninvited, for the available RAM.
How much RAM ?
You could go into Task Manager and choose the Processes tab and try to figure out what you Can do with out and what is spy ware, and end process.
If you can figure out what's what.
Of course it will all restart when you reboot, but you will have an idea of what to uninstall or change the settings on.
Myself, I always have a good backup, and use Tengu7000's suggestion.
If it is a Lack of RAM, an upgrade might handle those background programs, minus the spyware of course.
Edit : run malwarebytes or spybot, or both. Malwarebytes.org The home of Spybot-S&D!
