Windows Vista/7 Multi-User Desktop Shorcuts Annoyance

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and have noticed that an annoying little issue I was experiencing on Vista hasn't been addressed. I have 2 users set up on my PC, myself and my roommate. I've noticed that whenever he deletes a desktop shortcut, that shortcut is also removed on my desktop and vice/versa. Also when I add new shortcuts, they appear on his end (often why he deletes them if it's something he doesn't use). This just doesn't seem right. Has anyone else had this problem and/or know a solution?

Thanks in advance!

All version of windows do this to some extent...

There is an ALL USERS folder for desktop shortcuts and a folder for each of you...Sounds like you've been using the ALL users..

Ah - okay, good to know. From now on I guess I'll have to add my shortcuts in explorer rather than on the desktop itself to make sure it goes where I want it. When it comes to shortcuts, Windows should really not use that All Users folder, it's really annoying. Thanks for the help.
