Photos sent to my Outlook 2003 come as attachments.
Photos I send via Outlook 2003 go out as attachments.
I'd like both to be embedded (I think that's the word), but I can't figure out how to make that a preference. Can someone tell me, please? |

Thank you, Steve. Of course that works for sending photos. Why didn't I think of that? Now, how about receiving? The same email with photos goes to my husband's computer with OE with the photos and captions embedded. On my computer with Outlook, the photos come as attachments with no captions. Any ideas on that? |

Is the sender embedding them like the INSERT above or are they attaching them.
Have hubby embed a pic and send it to you. |

The sender is sending one email to us. Just one. But Outlook Express gets the photos embedded, and Outlook gets them as attachments. I don't know which way the sender is doing it, but shouldn't both recipients be able to get them embedded if the Preferences are set up right at our end? |

And exactly where do you see a Preference Option in Outlook?
I just sent myself (outlook 2003) two mails from Windows Mail on a second pc.
One mail had an attachemnt
One mail had the picture embeded.
Both mails were received exactly as they were sent. |

Well, that's the problem. I see Preferences in Tools-Options, but I can't find anything about how to handle photos. |

Are you defaulting to HTML mail? I think you have to do that.
Moving JPG's to attachments is a safety feature.

Yes, I am defaulting to HTML. And yes, I know that it's a safety factor to have photos as attachments, but I still don't like it that way.
And you know what's really frustrating? I used to receive attachments embedded and changed it, somehow. I just can't figure out how I changed it so I can change it back. |

What happens when you sit at hubby's pc - embed a pic and send it yourself on your machine? Does it come embedded or attached..
If it come embedded - immediatly get on the phone and call everyone that might possiblly send you an email with pictures...Walk them through the process of Embedding the pic...In three or four months - you'll be all fixed up |
