WIN2k: auto-login
Can't for the life of me remember how to set it to auto-login with the one and only account (Administrator renamed) on this machine.
Tried system properties, startup and recovery, network properties, etc.
WIN2k help (I actually tried using it) didn't help...
Direction please?rh71.com

go into the control panel then click users and passwords
then unclick users must enter a password.
or you can have tweakui do it for you

Hmm... I only see Guests in there.. which is disabled. How come it won't show my Administrator account ?
Whoops nevermind. Once I unchecked the box, it let me type in which account to use. Thx!Last edited by rh71; June 8th, 2002 at 01:28 PM.

1. Go to Run and type cmd .
2. Type control userpasswords
and a "User Accounts" window will open.
3. Highlight the account you would like to auto logon and uncheck the "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer"...Last edited by NDC; June 8th, 2002 at 02:01 PM.

For Windows XP, it's almost the same. Only difference is that you would type control userpasswords2.

And I can show off to others now too... hehe.

June 9th, 2002, 02:05 AM #10I feel like such a hacker when I use command promt. I try to use it more than anything else. my favorite thing to do is when you ar trying to delete something within windows and it won't let you, then you boot in MS-Dos and delete it from there. man, I love doing that. Take that Windows...it just makes you cooler

you will miss out of some of life's many disappointments...
