Winpopup
Hey guys!
Does anybody know if there is a utility similar to Winpopup from Win98 in Operating Systems such as 2000/XP??
I can send messages using Winpopup, and a messenger service recieves them, which makes me believe that Windows XP has this capability.
I know there are many free utilities you can download, so I am only interested in your knowledge of anything EMBEDDED into the OS.
Thanks in advance

In WinNT/2k/XP, there's a command called "netsend".
This is from Win2k's help file on it:
Net send
Sends messages to other users, computers, or messaging names on the network. The Messenger service must be running to receive messages.
net send {name | * | /domain[:name] | /users} message
Parameters
name
Specifies the user name, computer name, or messaging name to send the message to. If the name is a computer name that contains blank characters, enclose the alias in quotation marks (" "). Long user names may lead to problems when used as NetBIOS names. NetBIOS names are limited to 16 characters, and Windows 2000 reserves the 16th character.
*
Sends the message to all the names in your domain or workgroup.
/domain[:name]
Sends the message to all the names in the computer's domain. If name is specified, the message is sent to all the names in the specified domain or workgroup.
/users
Sends the message to all users connected to the server.
message
Specifies text to be sent as a message.

I am quite familiar with Lantalk among others. I specifically asked for solutions within the OS.Originally posted by squeech

Winpopup was excellent... Don't understand why they didn't include it in the nt/w2k os'es.
There are some commercial utilities, like winpopup+ which does the same.
But the command line utility 'net send' does the same.

I think you are missing the point, Mr. tony_j15. Cutting taxes on profits doesn't "increase" profits per se--it decreases the taxes on them, and may I add eliminates punishing the more efficient...
