Looking for a copy of Windows XP Home

So I have an older PC I am trying to resurrect for my brother in law who is rather low on cash. Right now there is a copy of Windows XP Home on the PC but it is pretty trashed with a virus. I can't get any AV software on the thing since the virus wont let me. It's old enough I can't get a restore disk from HP and I gave away my last copy of XP to help out a friend of work who was building a PC for a missionary. There is a tag on the PC that gives what I would assume to be a good product key. If I were to download a copy of XP home and use that key would it be legit? If so, can anybody point me in the direction of a good clean site where I could do that? I'm a little nervous about using a torrent for obvious viral related reasons. If not, does anybody have one for purchase for a reasonable cost?

    Thanks!

So I've plugged away at the PC a bit again, combofix removed a rootkit. I did get it to connect to Trend Micro for an online scan which popped nothing, I also tried their rootkit blaster and a bunch of Zone alarm hits popped, but nothing bad. The dang thing still redirects me every time I try to download AVG or Microsoft security essentials... *sigh*

Still in the market for a copy of XP Home or any suggestions!

    Thanks...

Yes you can borrow an OEM cd of XP Home from anyone that has one.

Come to think of it, an Ubuntu CD should bypass that virus.

Also, Kaspersky has a rescue CD that works well.
