Internet Favorites

Hi all

I have been searching non-stop but have found nothing to help so please can anyone offer a solution.

What I want to do is extract a url from an internet shortcut, I have used a program called Belkasoft IE Favorties Extractor but that gives me the names along with the site address. Does anyone know of a program that would just give me the address as I am trying to find a better way of storing favorites seeing as I have several thousand of them.

What OS are you running?


I'm using Windows 7, I just looked at my Favorites Folder for Internet Explorer (I mainly use Firefox or Chrome), but I have nearly 750 Favorites added to that folder alone, and it only consumes less then 3MB total in files.

How much space are you trying to save?

Favorites/Bookmark files really don't take that much room.


Depending on your browser, can't you just export them to a text file, or HTML file

I just exported all 700+ bookmarks in IE to an HTML file and its only 160K in size. Double click the file and it has all the bookmarks with hotlink names listed.

What happens when you click on the favorite and copy the URL/Address of the site when you get there
