Comes out tomorrow!

Apple - iOS 5 - 200+ new features for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

Looking forward to iText on my ipad/iphone. Take that cell phone company

Already warned our 3GS users to not upgrade until we test out the email and RSA application.

ATT dropped their 200 text package in part (IMO) because of iText. So now I'm double grandfathered. Got unlimited data and an outmoded text package.

I hope it works fully on a 3GS. I know iOS 4 "worked" on the 3G, but a lot of features didn't. Since the 3GS is still being sold, hopefully that means it will be fully supported.

My understanding its compatible with the 3gs but there are somethings in it that it wont be able to take advantage of. Not sure exactly what yet

Installing now. I forgot what a pain in the ass this is! All my music is on my old laptop, which died. I was able to transfer my purchases and do a backup, but I had like 10 gigs of ripped music on it and it ain't gonna transfer. I'll get it eventually after I rip the hard drive out of the old laptop, but if this was Android I could have just copied all the music off via My Computer. Hell, Android would have let me download the update wirelessly!

EDIT: Ok, I'm completely pissed. Not only does it get rid of my music, it deletes all the apps and makes you manually re-sync them.

I like this phone...but iTunes pissed me off so much...

Also this new ios lets your do OTA updates, you have never been able to do OTA with the iphone so im not sure why you are saying anything about it.

Btw im digging iCloud and how it syncs all my contacts automatically. Never again do I need to worry about wiping my phone and losing my contacts

The web interface is okayish, its nice being able to add contacts into it and it automatically gets pushed to the phone.

Update is pretty awesome... notification center is AMAZING since I have so much of my personal and work stuff going through my phone every day... and all night.... now I don't have to pay as much attention since it just shows up right on the unlock screen.

I've only got one iOS device so cloud syncing isn't a factor for me really. I am impressed with the iMessage system and the Reader option for web pages is great! I've also noticed that Safari now scales photos to fill the screen, which is nice. Before if you loaded a small jpeg through a webpage it would leave it at native size and you had to pinch to zoom.

The notification bar is nice, although more customization would be great.

I can also report that the camera button on the lock screen is non-existent for the 3GS.

Tony, when its locked did you hit the home button twice? That is what brings up the camera button from the lock screen

BTW Tony if you are running OSX or windows Vista/Windows 7 you can take advantage of icloud

Im digging the synching of the imessage between the iphone and the ipad. If I view it on the ipad, the notification goes away on the iphone. If I respond on the ipad, my response is synched with the iphone too. This is way cool!

Hopefully it comes to OSX very soon! That would be neato+++!!!
