    Windows 7 Copy Protection

This is not a warez query - I am completely legit with my software. I ordered a new SSD to boost my load times, and just discovered a crack in my Win 7 DVD.

Other than the CD Key which I have, is there any other type of protection used by Win 7, or should I be okay just to get an ISO from somewhere and install? I can't think of a reason why not, but you gurus have given quick answers in the past. I couldn't be bothered going through MS Broken Media help line when I have a 100mb/s connection

Yeah, if you find the .iso you should be fine with that key.

I'll second that. If you know someone with the legit DVD you'd be better off making your own copy of that than DL'ing something.

If it was a retail dvd you can get a replacement from MS.

If the dvd came with a Dell or HP machine you can get a replacement from them usually for the cost of shipping.
