    XBMC installed alongside WM7

     
    I'm running Windows Media Center 7 on my HTPC. Can I put XBMC on the same machine? b Will it conflict or mess up the codecs?

    Yeah you can definitely run several different media players side by side without issue. Just watch for file association changes so that you have whichever player you want as your main opening whichever files you want. Codecs really aren't a concern, in fact most media players will add more that WMC/WMP can use. The only concern is when un-installing the secondary. I've had that cause an issue and mess up some of the codecs I was using in WMP 11.
