    netbook stays at blinking screeen

     
    good morning to all,
    i have a asus EEE pc 1005 hab that belongs to my son, at first the laptop was giving me a error message to setup the time and date, i did but it was continous so i replaced the cmos battery and set the time and it was good, but now right after the POST, the light blinks and stays blinking as if a floppy was stuck in there. i went into the bios, changed the boot order to removable drive and connected my external cd drive and ran a chkdsk /r. it did see the hd and perhaps corrected it but no luck
    any ideas?
