Win 7 [64-bit] Home Premium, Best browser?
Dear Fellow Members:
I have been using Internet Explorer (64 & 32 bit versions) with Windows 7 Home Premium with no difficulty except when I attempt to access one or two Web sites that have never before given me difficulty. Out of curiosity, and before I take the time and trouble to try out a different browser, e.g., Mozilla Firefox 64-bit, Safari 64-bit, any opinions as to the best browser to use with Windows 7 (64-bit) Home Premium operating system?
Thanks!
Brangwen

FF doesn't have an official 64bit release. You can get nightly releases though. I've never noticed any difference when using a 64bit browser over a none 64 bit version though. Just looking I'm not sure Chrome or Safari have official 64 bit builds out yet for windows either. You could probably dig around and find out forsure.
My suggestion is download them all and try each one individually. All have strong points, all have weaknesses. Things I like about FF might not be things you'd like and vice versa.Last edited by RicheemxX; December 21st, 2011 at 05:42 PM.

Personally, I prefer Chrome browser, but that's purely a matter of personal taste. Like Rich said, give a bunch a spin and see what works and what doesn't for ya.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

I'm slowly winging myself of IE.... Am currently using a portable version of FF and really like it...

I prefer Firefox, but sometimes it does a horrible memory grab and crashes or stalls. Chrome is good, I just am used to FF and don't like to change much.

I've been running FF 8.0 on W7 Ultimate x64 for about a month now, and I've had 3 or 4 hard lock-ups... Despite that, and some web layout issues, I'm sold.

Then your behind...

FF 9 is out, and another update scheduled for 2nd week of next month.
LOL, just found out about version 9 update last night, supposedly besides some additional major security issues and a major bug fix for version 3.6, they have a 16 to 36% performance increase in JavaScript apps and what not.
but for browsers, Mainly Firefox here, and Chrome when its not working. IE is installed but really no longer used, have Safari installed but never use it anymore, and then Opera WAS installed a year ago, but I haven't used that in an eternity (not counting the Nintendo Wii's browser which is based on Opera)
as to 64-bit browsing, I have yet to experience that, I tried IE8 in 64-bit and it ALWAYS seemed to lock up or crash on my end, so I gave up on it.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

FF 9.0 here, just upgraded from 8 a few days back.
Never really got into Opera much, but Chrome is ok. As noted above, try them all out and go from there
