Super Annoying Problem with Windows 7
I don't know if this is ONLY happening to me or not. The problem I'm having is really annoying and I can't take it anymore and I would love a solution.
ok, here's the description.. when I'm typing (like right now) the | <- the thing to type forward randomly moves backward messing up the words and I have to erase and write it again.
WHY is this happening to me???? It's really annoying!!
Has anyone experienced this before? It doesn't only happen when I use the browser, but it happens everywhere....
How to fix this?? It has happened to while using my parent's laptop, my brother's and mine. I dont think its a virus or anything....

It sounds to me like you are accidentally hitting the trackpad

Try actually turning the trackpad off and see if it happens
edit: one option
Contol Panel->MOUSE>pointer settings
Look for the option to hide mouse pointer while typing.
a secondary option
turn off the Enhance pointer precision feature:
Click Start, click Run, type control mouse, and then click OK.
Click the Pointer Options tab, click to clear the Enhance pointer precision check box, click Apply and OKLast edited by RicheemxX; January 18th, 2012 at 08:02 PM.

That is a problem, my Dell disables the pad when I plug a mouse in.
I can't use it while typing much, or the courser jumps all over the place, taking my typing with it.
It is not 7, as I had the same problem with XP, on a Sony laptop.
My problem is, I have very little time on laptops, and I'm sure I'll figure it out.
You just have to get use to not touching the pad.
Still an option that my Toshiba with Ubuntu has, is "Disable pad while typing"
It would be a great option, if it had more than a 1 second delay, or you could set it, to what you want. With a 1 second delay, it might as well not even be an option,Hard Sayin Not Knowin

I have System and Security, Network and Internet, Hardware and Sound, Programs, User Accounts and Family Safety, Appearance and Personalization, Clock, Language and Region and Ease of Access.
Between, how can I add an avatar in this forum thing? I can't find the place to upload.. I can only have a profile picture

In Windows 7, Control Panel, Hardware & Sound, Devices & Printers, Mouse.

as to an Avatar, You go to User CP (upper left corner) and then select Edit Avatar on Left hand side.
There's a minimum Post count needed before you can do this, and I forget what it was (40 or so posts I think, but that might be one of the other forums I'm on, I forget off hand, Rich should know though)i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

If you didn't have this problem a few weeks ago, I'm curious why.
If there is a setting, I'd like to know which one it is.
Or did you change your typing technique?
Was the pad disables?Hard Sayin Not Knowin

I restored my laptop. (before restoring, I didn't have this problem at all... the only reason I restored is cause I got a BOOT error)
I didnt change my typing technique nor was the pad disabled, i never used the touch pad.. i've always used a mini mouse.
Just typing this I got the annoying | <- moving to the top text. I'm still having problems

Hair or dust in the lens area on the bottom of an optical mouse can make the cursor/caret jump, as could the cursor keys being damaged. Spilt anything on your keyboard lately, or lost the springiness in any of the keys?

7 dose have a setting to disable the pad, when a mouse is plugged in.
I'm wondering if you had it set to disable the pad, when the mouse is plugged in, then when you did the reinstall, it set it back to not disable?
Since you use a mouse, that setting should solve your problem.
That's how I get around it, when I have a lot of typing.
Edit
Until I lear to use it, that is.Last edited by stroyal; January 21st, 2012 at 01:39 AM.
