    Help!

Im trying to copy a quantum scsi 10 gb HD to a Maxtor 40gb hd. After I select all the drives to be copied it goes into checking directory structer and it stops. I gave it 15 minutes and it doesnt do anything. Whats going on?

Is it giving you any errors?

    Is there HDD activity?

You say that you select "all the drives", are you talking about partitions, or are you doing Drive to Drive copy?

Im doing a drive copy so I hopefully can take this scsi HD off the mobo. Theres HD activity on the scsi drive for about 15 seconds and stops. There is no activity on the Maxtor.

Uh, were you using a boot floppy with GHOST.EXE on it before now?

If you were trying to Ghost from within Windows...that was your problem. I'm pretty sure Ghost 4 could do it in Winodws, but I think after that, you had to use a boot floppy.

Hope it works for ya too!

Well that worked but I was getting a start up error with a file missing. Something like ASP1i8.dos or close to that. Im now upgrading to winxp pro and hopefully I'll be ok. Thanks for the help EvilRick

I don't see how upgrading to XP will help your problem, since Ghost runs in DOS. You should have ASPI drivers for your SCSI card loaded whenever you boot to DOS.
[i]Keyboards and mice are great... for word processing.

well upgrading did something because I dont see that problem anymore and the computer seems to run like a champ. My boss took the computer home, after all its his. Its only my second time builing a pc and it all came out fine. Well at least it seems that way.
