A good tool to monitor the network
Hi guys!
I just started working as an IT administrator and I’m looking for software that will let me monitor the employees’ activity in the office. I have heard of Wireshark, Praetorian Guard and GFI and I still haven’t decided which one to use. I am looking for some recommendations.

What exactly are you wanting to monitor? What websites they are viewing, what applications they are using over the WAN port. How many users are you trying to monitor? How large of environment do you have?
Wireshark just looks at data packets on the wire and will take some practice to know what you are looking for.
The applications you listed are all different software tools, wireshark really doesnt have any kind of user audit built into it.

According to reviews I've read, those are OK, but I haven't tried them. A friend recommended the My Team Monitor, which is a free software and I've been using it ever since. It basically logs keystrokes, mouse clicks and screenshots, and shows the times the employees started and finished working. I registered at their website and it then sent the notification to my employees to ask them to download the software (for free of course) The website is "myteammonitor dot com" - I would add that to your list without a doubt.
