    Windows IE Stops working-Reboot fixes

Still having an issue on wife's Win 7 rig. 64 bit, AMD Phenom II dual 3.40Ghz, 5gb ram, 700GB HD. HP model p6733w-b

Open an IE window for Fox News, opens second tab for The Weather Channel and a third for Facebook. After maybe an hour, attempt to open another tab or separate window gets the traditional IE8 "Can not open this webpage" and the troubleshooter finds no issue with connectivity.

Used HP help to log on to an HP server and run diagnostics, no problem found.

Ran malware software, found nothing except harmless tracking cookies.

Used Ad-Aware Pro to check for viruses or malware. Even Full scan reports no issues. No virus, just some tracking like adclick or the like.

Outlook client stops receiving as well. Click on Send/Receive and I get "Receive error". Error code not found.

Only a restart clears this issue.

Any suggestion much appreciated. Machine is closing and awakening normally. Normal shut down and restart. Happens quickly.

"traditional IE8 "Can not open this webpage" If IE8 isn't a typo you might try IE9.
You can't get there from here

    Foggy,
I don't know you but I am rarely in that forum. Yes, it is IE8, why would you think that is a typo?

I have IE9 on all of the rigs I have built. I used to fold quite a bit when there were 20-30 people still folding (see my sig block below)

The rig in question is not one I built, it is what I stated, an HP purchase that has worked just fine until about a month ago.

What do you think IE9 will change? I am concerned that the installation of a free one month trial of Ad-Aware Pro could be the culprit but, why did it work for almost a month before we had issues?

    Thanks Foggy!
