rules in outlook

What is the name and where is the file that stores all the rules settings (rules wizard) for a user in microsoft outlook?

I'm setting up a new pc for a user and she wants to transfer all her rules for outlook to the new pc, but i don't know the name of the file and where its kept.

Pretty sure its not kept on exchange because the user is using another pc and her rules didn't transfer over.

Rules are ".rwz"

Export Them (better)

Tools > Rules Wizard> and then click Options
In the Options box, click Export Rules, and choose a location to save file.



Then just do the oposite and import them on the new setup

Nice HfdWolfPack I didn't know that.

If you have to bring everything over, Including the emails, You have the option of copying the .pst file to the new machine and that copies "everything" over. Rules, address, groups...

Can I just import the .rwz file to her new pc without first exporting it first from her old pc? will it work?

The reason being, windows is corrupted on her C: partition, can't even load into it. What i did was reload windows on her D: partition and retrieve her files from there.

Lunar- Have you tried installing Windows on top of itself? Just to get outlook up?

Yes you can just copy the .rwz file over, but it isn't 100%

Exporting is really the way to go.

okay, thanks hfdwolfpack and zenyo. I'm going to try opening her .pst files. I didn't know .pst files included rules as well.
