Installing XP upgrade, I cant find my win 98 cd, argh!!

Hey guys is there a way to bypass windows cd look up. I have bought my copy of WinXpPro and Im trying to install it from format and fdisk. I cant find my win98 cd. Can I bypass this some how?

Not as far as I know and get a clean install.

Tell me what is the difference between an upgrade and the full version other than needing the previous versions cd.

Got me. After format and fdisk I pop in the winXpPro *upgrade* cd I bought and during install it says setup could not read the cd you inserted, or the cd is not avalid windows cd. Please insert a your windows nt 3.51, 98 blah blah blah cd and press return.

I think you're stuck with looking for your 98 OS disk like Cowboy said.

I am looking for it now. Finding some interesting things. Hey I just found my minidisc Ive been looking for the past 4 days!!

Now I dont have to record all those Tool songs again! hehe. I found the win98 usermanual. Ya think if I hold it up to the monitor it'll go ahead and install winxp?

Not if you just hold it up to the monitor! You have to sellotape it to the glass front, then dance naked around a Maple tree 98 times at midnight on August 31st, whilst reciting 'Return To Innocence' by Enigma !

Doesn't it say that in the manual ??
