dose Mandrake (Linux in gen) have wireless mouse support? just started to install it, but at the install screen I couldn't use my mouse... anyone know if you have to have a normal mouse?
also I was going to use partition magic to make a partition for mandrake... but wasn't sure which one to pick
Linux EX2, Linux EX3 or Linux swap.... I plan on a dual boot with XP pro
another question is, I've never set up a dual boot, so would I make the linux partition a logical or another primary?

1. wireless mouse support - I don't know but you could check the hardware compatibility list over at the OS vendors's website
2. partitioning - for the sake of simplicty you need a swap partition and a "/" (root) partition that you could format as ext3 (I recommend reiserfs). You can also create free space with Partition Magic and use Linux tools to create the necessary partitions.
3. dual boot - the Linux bootloader can boot your XP NTFS partition so you probably will want to install it in the master boot record of your XP drive - as far as primary and extended partitions go it realy does not matter because XP will not see them anyway, but some people say it is better if you can make these primary partitions because they are easier to recover if you ever have a problem.
Good Luck |

well I fell like I'm talking to myself here, but guess no linux people have checked yet....
I have it up and running but everything seems very very slow..... takes a min or so just to open the screen resolution program (yea I found it) and browsing on the net... is unbearable.... I mean it's SLOW very slow..... I set it up on a small network, I'm using one computer as the router and this one is connected to it.... but the server computer browses fine yet this one is slow as a 56k.... meanwhile when I boot into XP it surfs fine... |
