Just found a new windows shortcut, and something that's bugged me for a long time...
If while closing a window, like windows explorer or IE, hold shift and then click the X to close it.
This saves the settings!! meaning the window position, folder options, etc..
For a long time, I could never figure out how it decided to open and what size... now just put them in the size and position you want and do this shift-close and it saves it.
Ok, I get excited about little things, but it takes care of one more windows annoyance.

I'll give it a try. Usually they save the settings any way though, don't they? Well most of the time, you do have those pesky folders that never are the way you want them. |

mine alaways stayed they way I wanted them but I found that I would have to open the program(IE) then set the window size and then close the program. After doing that, they always stayed where I wanted. If you did a shutdown though with the window opened and not having closed the prgram yet...it would revert back to default settings. |

Glad it's helping out.
I'd better give credit where credit is due..
Was reading Mastering Windows 2000 server by Mark Minasi, et al
This was just mentioned in passing when talking about the different tools. Tried it on XP and it works. Not sure about 9x, but I'm guessing it should work.
